Princess Jincheng

Lhasa, Tibet

About This Attraction

The stage play "Princess Jincheng" integrates various art forms including the original ethnic music, dance, drama, and folk legends of the ethnic group in XI ZANG. It recounts the historical story of Princess Jincheng's marriage alliance into XI ZANG over 1,300 years ago. Unlike the grand epic "Princess Wencheng" which depicts Princess Wencheng's emotional journey upon entering XI ZANG, "Princess Jincheng" focuses on showcasing the real life and experiences of Princess Jincheng after her arrival in XI ZANG. She vigorously promoted the Tang-Tubo alliance, initiated the tea-horse trade, and brought benefits to the border people. Her actions had a profound impact on Tubo's economy, culture, agricultural production, and other aspects, winning the heartfelt love and admiration of the ethnic people in XI ZANG. Once again, she composed an epic of harmony between Han and XI ZANG that has been sung through the ages.
